Bob brought me to Alaska in 1994 for the best job I ever had. His first priority were to those people he worked with, and made us feel important. Rest in Peace, Bob.

Bob was our Officiant for our wedding, many years ago. He will be sorely missed, as will his Rosie!

Robert Armstrong Rice. Was born, as a fierce fighter, born out of the gate, like a wild stallion ready for battle...In His early years, he walked to school. School was never cancelled because it was too cold. Back in the day, the Twin Cities had over 700 miles of Trolley tracks, and fueled by electrical dams. Which today's Green nuts would love. Robert proudly rode the last trolley in 1954. Robert loved hockey, and played it, like old time hockey, like the Hanson Brothers in the movie. "Slap Shot". Later Robert joined the Army, and took a grazing bullet to his helmet, from a sniper from North Korea. Weeks after the Armistice. Leaving him unconscious for a while...Sadly in the early 70's Robert lost everything, due to the 70's Oil Embargo, against the USA. Nixon taking America off the Gold Standard. Inflation took off like roaring lion, and everything doubled in price. He sadly lost his first marriage as a result. To pay off his enormous debts, he took a part time job driving taxi, and building houses. On that sad date of Aug 16th, 1977, while building a house in WC. The News came over the radio. Elvis had passed away. As Robert was pounding nails, On the roof, I hollered, "Elvis has died!" The hammer flew out his hand. Back in the day, Robert partied with Many of the Hollywood greats of the time. Rock Hudson, and briefly with Elvis Presley, to name a few. For Robert to Achieve the coveted rank of CSM E-9, despite all his trials and tribulations, Is an Amazing testament of his fighting spirit. In the end, he fought over a 4 yr bitter battle with death...Hence his nickname "Rocky" way before the movies.

Signed 1st LT Alan Robert Rice. His Son.

I had the honor to serve with Bob in the Army Guard. A kinder, smarter, more compassionate man would be hard to find. He truly cared for everyone he worked with and knew. My condolences to his family and friends on the loss of a good man.
