When I first met Carl I was really nervous, after getting to know him, he was a very easy going person to talk to. He really made me feel comfortable within the first five minutes of meeting him. I really enjoyed talking with him. I spent one New Year's with him and Nancy several years ago. They both treated me with kindness and respect. Carl shared stories with me about how it was “back in the day”; he also taught me a few things about native ways that I was never taught. He even told stories about my family that I never knew. Carl was a very caring, lovable person to be around. He and I would joke and tease each other. I do miss talking with him. I will also miss the valuable advice, and the knowledge and the wisdom he had to offer. I know he is joking and making someone laugh somewhere...
PS. Carl, I will always keep my promise that I made to you! Your friend Eric

My memories of Uncle Carlie are mostly from my dad, Nick Pitka Sr.. They knew each other since they were kids and were buddies. I saw them together several times and I could tell from observing them and listening to them that they had a strong bond ~ like brothers. They knew how to have a genuine good time. The main thing I saw was they wanted their children to learn what is really important in life even we are in the modern times. We as their children and grandchildren need to honor their values and show who we are through our work and how we treat others. The other thing I know Uncle Carlie and my dad passed on was the fishing ~~~and taking care of the church ~~~ Always remember Uncle Carlie and communicate with him. Never forget him no matter what. Probably said too much. We love you Uncle Carlie!

Were really going to miss our uncle Carl, he was such a really good person. Him and our Auntie Nancy would be really happy when my dad, mom,Jr and me went over to visit they would welcome us right now. I remember telling them soo long to come to your house way back in Morgan's road, and they would laugh and say you made all the way from russian mission you kids weren't cold and we said no. We'll all miss you very much Uncle and we'll continue to pray for Auntie Nancy and hope that she gets better. We'll never forget how much our families love eachother. With love and prayers!

The Morgan family is such a strong and important part of Aniak! Carl Sr. and Nancy made that all possible. We will always have wonderful memories of our time there, and all the Morgans. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family members.

I have been fortunate to get to know several of Mr. Morgan's sons. He certainly did something very special as a father to raise such remarkably good men.
Carl and Nancy have much to be proud of in their children and Mr. Morgan will live on through them, his grandchildren and his grandchildren's children.
