Found myself wondering last week what you would be doing right now if you were still here, how you would have made your mark on the world. Life is so different now than it was when I knew you. I have a family, a little boy. I wish so much that you were a part of the world he will inherit. You would have made it a better, brighter place.

It's been 5 years now, and the love I felt for Danica is still alive in my heart

Devon thank you for keeping this guestbook here permanently. A blessing.

I'm sorry to say that a few years after Danica died, after fighting with loss and hopelessness, her mom, Lisa, died in Port Townsend. They were both feisty, strong, passionate women who wanted to make the world better.

Lisa, I don't know if you will get this. I was just trying to find you and found this news instead. I am so sorry, words can't express how sorry I am for your loss and the world's loss. Danica was a wonderful wonderful soul. She was a true one of a kind. I hope you are taking care of yourself out there.

Lisa, I'm so sorry. I can't think of a worse thing for you to have to survive.

My Dear Lisa. When I think of you and Danica, flashes of pictures, sounds and feelings rush by from years of sharing in the growing years of our children and ourselves. My family was away from Bloomington, or we would have been with you to share also in the celebration for Danica. Our very deepest sympathy for you, her friends....and sadly, for the world. I'll always remember Danica as tirelessly spirited, full of good will and always willing to share in making positive things happen to benefit everyone. I can see by the kind words from her friends that she lives on.

I remember Danica as a dashing, fragile young woman who could alter her appearance with tons of make-up skillfully applied. I remember how worried you, Lisa, were for her safety and recovery. I am so sorry she is no longer with us.

in the streets,
in your memory,
for a better world

I just heard about Danica’s passing last night via my mother Susan. Sorry these condolences seem to be late in getting to all of you.

I knew Danica when we both were children –only children of single mothers. I remember her as being unafraid of being herself, strong willed and unapologetic for her beliefs. I always envied that courage and as I still, to this day, struggle with the battle between being who I am and being who I think those around me want me to be, I will remember Danica Spector.

For her mother, Lisa, who held and always will hold a special place in my heart, remember to shake, laugh and cry. You have many people in this world who love you and would support you during this time if and when you need us and choose to reach out.

I knew Danica from Elementary School and Harmony in Bloomington. She was a dear friend that made a difficult transition in my life easier. After moving away I always wished to regain contact with her for she often comes to mind. I will always remember her and her strong personality.

I wish she had lived to fight another day (and another) October 2006 - the convention Danica - we will always love you!
