Sorry to hear that Herm left us!
Regards to the family
My prayers are with the family now and always,I will look back at flying with Herman with a huge smile .
My father, Henri Lirette, served in the Army (WWII) and knew Mama Nicolet, Emmy and "mink eyed" Herman. My dad was very fond of the Nicolet family and spoke about them often. Sorry for your loss.
Fond memories...you are missed.
I was truly saddened to hear of my friend Herman's death. I worked for Teamsters Union Local 959 and Herman was our pilot. Even before we had our own airplanes, and Herman became our Chief Pilot, we would charter aircraft from Sandy Phillips Aviation and Herman would be our pilot. I have so many fond memories of travels with Herman all over Alaska and the lower 48. Not only was Herman a superb pilot he was a caring and giving human being who always had a smile and positive attitude no matter the situation. Herman was an inspiration to all of us lucky enough to have known him; and that is certainly a very large number as it seemed he knew people wherever we landed.
we Just lost a Great High School Friend..
And such a beautiful bunch of childern he fathered. My first memory of Spike goes way back to Grammas old house, Spike was building amodel airplane, gramma gave me a plate with green beans on it, I watch Spike as he carfully placed each pin into the frame of his plane, Later I told him of this, he rolled with laughter cause he recalled this as well, I told him I will forver eat green beans and think of him. I took Spike hunting and fishing, he took me to places I will never see, Thank You for your friendship and your kindness. Our mommas were as close a friends we were. I know they have been at the table drinking tea, and like I said before as your Mom met you she said akaa my sonny boy. A nice sip of Cognac, a wedge of lemon sprinkled with instant coffe and sugar, will be in your memory my next drift on the cutbank. Ellluuuumun.I will miss you my firend. Normandddyyy

For all of the family & friends of Herman, I was so sorry to hear of his passing. Herman was my friend for over forty years, and I had the pleasure & honor of him being the pilot on the many trips we made accross the state of Alaska checking construction projects while we were employed by Teamsters Local 959. I remember on two occasions while in the Dillingham area, driving over to Naknek and picking up his Mother to bring back to Anchorage. And wherever we went I also made sure he had transportation to get to the nearest fishing hole. I will miss you my friend.
I will never forget Herman's wonderful smile and contagious laugh. He loved his family very much. Sending my love to his beautiful family.
So sorry to hear about Herman's passing. Condolences go out to Emma, Sandra, and the rest of his family.
Herman, we have missed you so much-but know that you are in the arms of OUR SAVIOR! Herman You have always been a gentle and dear person. GOD BLESS ! You must be proud of your family who honor you.
Herman I will miss you, we have had many times together, Anchorage High School, flying together and mutual friends. Have a good last flight.
Herman, you are the man. You became my family and personal friend in the 60's when Anchorage was young and wild. I was 12 yrs old and admired you from the moment we met. Reasons mentioned in your obituary, and your friendly, smiley, genuine interest and inclusion of people set you apart from average folks. Your passing is a loss for all blessed to know you Herman. Peace.
Herman was a friend, a neighbor and man of humor and wit. He had many stories, none of which he was ever afraid to repeat....miss you, man.
I worked with Herman at Penair- he was a sweet man who always had a smile and hug for us! I am so sad to hear of his passing. What a special man he was to so many.
A lifelong friend and everything you said
was right on. I can still remember some
of his mischef. He could always bring a
smile. So long Naknek/Anchorage neighbor.
