With the Loss of a "True Aviator Extroidinaire" I have sooo many lovely fond memories of Uncle Pete, with my brother Mitch, cousins Kim & Shannon up at Nancy Lake in our youth. Uncle Pete & our Father Louie, had us kids in stitches all the time. I forever will miss his abundant keen memories of the Good Ole days. A real Norweigen Viking! Blessings to the Knudsen Family!!

Pete taught me many things. How to fix aircraft, cut up a moose and above all, be kind and generous to others. Kay, Kim and Shannon, my deepest condolences during this time.
Thank you all for your messages
Our family has received an out pour of many supporting phone calls, cards, flowers, meals and we have been bless by God with such a great husband, dad & grandfather !!!!
I am sorry to hear of Pete's passing. You are in my prayers.
Pete was indeed a master storyteller. While working with Pete, as a relatively green mechanic, I once asked how to do something. Pete's patient instruction began with, "my great Uncle, Isaac Newton Knudsen...", that was 1989 and I think about that all of the time. Pete was a wonderful man and my friend. I will remember him fondly forever. God bless you.
Kay and family, I am deeply sadned by the loss of Pete. He was a great man and friend. He will always be rmembered in Alaska as a great Alaskan with many talents. My heart reaches out to you, please know you have never been forgotten and you two have always been in my heart and prayers. May God take you in his arms and heal your sorrow. With sincere sympathy and Love, Mary O'Brien Johnson (Louie's friend.)
There are too few men around today like Pete. Great at what he did ,good to people he knew.It was an honor to know Pete and we will miss him. Our thoughts are with Kay and family.

There was no one better at airplane mechanics, nor a better friend than found in Pete and Kay. When Jim Rhode and his son barely made it to Point Yachitat in Southeast (I think in a Cessna 185), Pete was the one who graciously went down and helped Jim recover the engine, repair it, and reinstall it so that the plane could be brought back to Anchorage. When Pete would work on airplane parts in our garage, I would watch Pete work, silent, intense and completely in charge of what he was doing. Yet with a magnetism and warmth that was wonderful to be around. Pete and Kay's two daughters also were in our lives, and one of them helped Jim and me get our marriage license in 1988. Kay and Pete were welcome guests at Jim's cabin in Kasilof and we spent good times there together.
To his family and friends, I hope for wonderful memories and peace.
Goodbye Pete: I'm sorry to see you go.
Merlyn Paine, Jim Rhode's wife.
