Jeff and I were in the same Recruit Class with the Hawaii Police Department. I often wondered what happened to him after he left the Department.
I'm glad that he led such an interesting and productive life.

Regret we lived so far apart but, even if years since...it was just like yesterday every time we saw each other. Of course, as close as we were Jeff's Mom, Dad,sisters & brothers were and still are dear to me, despite, the time/distance so far apart. Many good memories I shall cherish of 'The Maurer family'. God bless you all and my sincerest, deepest regards for our dear Jeff. Aloha My Dear Friend

Aloha Jeff, I was very sad to hear of your passing. Even though we didn't always keep in touch, and I find out a couple of years after you left us, I thought of you often. After reading your obituary I see you had a full and happy life. Wish we could have shared more life experiences. As it is, I have many happy memories of our childhood. So you live on in my mind. Aloha nui loa.

Thank you brother for always supporting me through the good times and the hard times. I'll miss the late night phone calls and the heads up on coupons. I miss"Hey kid, how you doing?" Thank you for careing and staying in touch. I do believe that you and Jimmy Charles are watching over me, so I,m totally blessed. Seems like I always get that perfect parking place or things at work just go so well. I know that when my time comes you both will be there to welcome me.So happy trails for now, until we meet again. Much love, Linda

I will always have the fondest memories of my Uncle Jeff as being the "Great Alaskan Tour Guide". While driving around Anchorage or cruising out to Wasilla, he was always ready to share a wealth of information about Alaska and his experiences throughout the years. Our greatest journey was a train ride out to Seward for the day. Seeing Beluga Whales while traveling up the Turnagain Arm was something we never expected at 7am in the morning! Along with being a tour guide he was also a helpful junking/treasure hunter. Uncle Jeff would drive me around to a variety of thrift shops in Anchorage looking for "treasures" and antiques that adorn the walls and sit on shelves at my store in Hawaii. I will always have the greatest memories of the time and adventures we shared.

To Jeffrey's family & friends:
I am originally from Alaska and I miss it dearly. I did not know Jeffrey, but he was truly an Alaskan by heart! I could tell he was a dear man, just by people calling him "Santa". One day I will be back home to stay. Once an Alaskan, always an Alaskan!! God Bless!

I am a cousin of Jeff's ex-wife from the Big Island of Hawaii. I didn't realize that we were both here in Alaska at the same time. I wish I would have known, because I would have definitely said Hello. I was a small child when I knew him, but from what I remember he was always a very nice guy.... I have fond memories of him.
