Joan and I worked together at Big Lake Elementary for 11 years. I watched her grow over the years to be what she was suppose to be. She ended up being one of the wisest of my friends. Even though we only saw each other on Facebook for so many years, my heart hurts with the sadness of this reality. I did love her as a friend, and respected her as a colleague. I'm overwhelmed. But you have your own weight to carry and I won't add mine.

Thanks for the chance to tell you I loved her too.

Dave,
We are saddened to hear of Joanie's passing. We have you and your girls in our prayers. I don't think I ever saw Joanie without a smile on her face. Hold close the precious memories. No one can take them away from you.

Behind every good fireman there is beautiful strong woman. Dave, I am sorry you and your girls have lost Joan. The world became a better place because of Joan and you. Hang in there. Your pal, Jim Kenshalo

So, so sorry about Joanie's passing. There was only a short opportunity for us but I am so thankful to have had it. There are no words that I can use to adequately express the sorrow we all feel. I pray for you all that you are finding comfort in each other and in the knowledge that she touched all of us so dearly.
