Jennifer, as much as it hurts knowing that John is now with the Lord,I want to thank you for giving us your note of July 30, 2010. For a couple of months I thought of him, and tried all the phone numbers I had of him in Valdez and Anchorage with no avail. I even thought he would be in a personal care home, but I could not figure-out where. I worked with John in Alaska while both in the employment of FRANK MOOLIN & ASSOCIATES, but our friendship was not restricted to that of co-workers. I enjoyed his engineering knowledge of Alaskan projects, and his natural way of doing the best for the employer and for their clients. He was an excellent engineer, and had the talent for common sense and practical solutions. I shall miss him, and I shall pray for him and for all of his family. May he rest in peace!.

Dear Jennifer,

We so appreciate your letting us know of your dad's passing. I had been meaning to write to him to remind him that our welcome mat is always out. He was such a good dinner companion and house guest in Alaska or in western Pennsylvania. When we lived in Anchorage, our son Steve was just 2 years old and very vocal. Over dinner at our home on Old Seward (1983) your dad said something to him to which Steve replied, "Too bad for you John Cerutti!" To this day the whole family uses the expresion including our youngest son and our grandchildren who never met your dad. He was obviously so in love with your mother, and he bragged about never having made even one chip in her dishes which were a tangible reminder of her. Another obvious love was his children and his dear "TLC's", his granddaughters. His stories of the 1964 Good Friday Earthquake in Anchorage were a real bit of eye-witness history. He will be missed indeed. May he rest in peace with the Lord.

Through your lovely daughter Jennifer I learned to know you dearly, John. You were a good father and a good man. Now you are joined with Peggy in eternity. The love of your children for you is a great legacy of your devotion as a family man and your character. Peter and I express deep condolences to the Cerutti family, and to you, Jenni, dear friend, our love and strength be with you in the name of God. Loving!

I want to say thank you to all who were so kind to remember my dad. He loved and cared about you all. The last 9 months were very difficult for him but as always he faced them with grace and patients. Now he is no longer suffering. I miss him so much. I was lucky he was my father. I will always treasure the memories I have of him. Love and Hugs to you Dad! Jennifer

Hello. I worked with John many years ago. He was the senior project manager for the City of Valdez and I was a young assistant city engineer. Though it was painfully obvious I was very green and inexperienced compared to him, he was very gracious. I'll always remember his as a gentleman and the engineers' engineer. He probably forgot more about engineering in his lifetime than I'll ever know. I learned alot from John. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.
