I met John in 1994 at a Xmas party where Deidre said she would marry him only if I approved. Of course I approved of John, women liked John. Although a manly man (bald due to too much testosterone) he liked musicals. I enjoyed theatre and concerts in company with John and Deidre (they would be holding hands). John had many friends and we all miss him very much.

I have spent many happy times with John and Deidre in Anchorage and Seattle. John shared his wonderful Mother, Lillian with me and passed custody of part of her family Christmas cactus to me. We took a road trip in the rain and laughed a lot. He will be missed.

I was saddened to hear about John's passing as he was a great father to my child hood friends Kirsten, Carrie, and Carla and a great friend to my family as well. It brought me back to the many wonderful holiday dinners, block parties, and of course, good old bridge night for the folks, that we shared together. Good times. I remember his deep jovial laugh and his keen sense of humor. Very witty! There was always laughter. When I think of Fords I think of John Osgood and Cal Worthington Ford where he worked for many years. He will be missed in the hearts of all of my family. My condolences to the entire family. Rest In Peace John Osgood.

Wow, I am sad to hear John is gone. He was a family friend who lived right down the street from me when I was a little kid in the early 70's. I remember him being such a jovial guy, always in a good mood. I remember his laugh as he sat with my parents at dinners, or playing bridge. I remember listening to the "Rhinestone Cowboy" over and over again with his daughter Carla and the coffee he would brew over at his home, so full of sugar and cream it tasted good to a kid. I remember how he got me a bright orange flag from Cal Worthingtons for my bike that I was so proud to have. I also remember how he was the first to identify my life-long distrust of wierd chicken parts, and would always save me the chicken "butt" (tail) in a little ziploc, and have my parents bring it home to me. Mostly, I'll just remember his smile and good spirits that I can see right now, even through the yellow tint of memories from long ago. John, sorry to see you go. Aron Hallquist

Dear Deidre,
It was a pleasure to get to know you and John at your annual Christmas parties and our heart goes out to you and yours for your loss.

I must say we were not aware of John's many accomplishments but know these will live on in the memories of you and your family and friends.

I had the pleasure of working under John Osgood at Worthington Ford in the late 70's. Still remember his story about the gal with a problem with her Ford . . . . he said he knew it was going to be weird, as the service reps were giggline. She said that the car talked to her, telling her to "turn left" when she wanted to turn right and vice versa. John said he thought it over for a nanosecond and advised her to trade in the vehicle for a Chevrolet, because Chevrolet had "fixed that problem".
I still laugh remembering him telling the story. He will be missed!

Deidre, I'll remember John for the IT support he provided with a splash of humor and the years he brought holiday cheer as our FAA Alaskan Region Santa. Thank you, John, for your joyful spirit.
