Renate was our across-the-street neighbor for 24 years. She took an active interest I everyone around her, and was always cheerful and thinking. She loved feeding the birds, caring for her many dogs and cats, and was kind. We will miss her immensely.

We met Renate in the early 90's of course through our German Shepherd, Bud. When Bud passed, Renate introduced us to a friend who rescued German Shepherds thus ending in us providing a wonderful life for another Shepherd, who had been cast aside. A very fond memory was when we visited her with our RV and parked in her driveway. Another memory was when we took her on our jet boat at Nancy Lake. She was always full of smiles and wonderful cheer. What an incredible lady! Love, Ron & Lynda Bowers

Renate was one of my greatest inspirations. Intensely private, compassionate, but hard, she exemplified what it meant to live a complicated life. She gave me great advice when I needed it, and loved deeply, but never coddled anyone. I was with her in her final hours and would love to talk with other people who knew her.

She sounds like a great lady. May she Rest in Peace in the nature she loved.

I knew Renate when I was a kid in the 70's and 80's when she lived in Sand Lake on Wilcox beside my uncle. She was definitely one of a kind and will be sorely missed. I have not seen her in years, but followed what was happening in her life through my mother and uncle. I'll miss her stories and the fond memories of spending the Christmas holidays with her as a kid...
