I was saddened to hear of the passing of Ruth; I fondly remember as a child, Whitey and Ruth playing cards at my parents house and how much fun they were. I had Ruth as an English teacher at Mears Jr. High in 1968 or '69. She truly was a sweet woman and had a great sense of fun. I know her family will miss her a great deal. My thoughts are with them all.

Pat, every beautiful picture card we received from you had a note about your Mom, what she was up to, and how much you missed her when you were traveling. Our hearts are very heavy right now...and, at the same time, we think "Wow, what a wonderful, long, full, loving life Ruth lived, what a beautiful spirit she was, and what an incredible legacy she leaves behind!" We feel privileged to have known her.
Pat, Mark, Michael and Shelli, we wish we were there to wrap our arms around you. Know we are with you and the rest of your family in our hearts and thoughts.

My thoughts and prayer go out to Pat and the family. I remember Ruth when we all took a trip to Europe after graduation in 82, Pat was one of my high school teachers. it is a memory I will never forget. Once I was in Hawaii and visited Ruth, she was an amazing person. I know deep down she will be missed. It is hard to say the right thing when someone close passes, just remember all the memories.

We didn't know Ruth Gordon, but we do know Pat Ryan, and we are sure that the apple did not fall far from the tree. Our condolences, Pat and to all of you. While we always know the outcome, we are still saddened when it happens. Sounds as if Ruth had a great life, and that is good to be able to say.

Condolences to the Ruth Gordon Progenies.
I taught with Ruth and Whitey at Central Junior High for many years and particularly remember the Great Alaska Earthquake of March 27th, 1964 -- two years after the NEW Central Junior High opened. The Gordons lost two homes in that Quake, but before the weekend was out with some male faculty members helping Whitey move the Gordon household furniture to make-do marginal temporary storage around the community --where it got stached in desperation with available male teaching colleagues manpower pooling. Later: we, the entire faculty,
celebrated in the Gordon's BRAND NEW home [bigger AND better than the old homes which had slipped over the edge or tippled].
Ruth and Whitey were dedicated in multi-ways: Great people, I do miss them..
