Ed and family please accept my condolences
March 17, 2018
I was saddened to hear of Sharon's passing. I had the pleasure to work with her through the elections. She was a pleasure to work with in those long days. We had some great conversations and laughs. She gave all her efforts to make my days easier. My condolences to her family. She will be missed greatly.

There is no way we would have been able to start up the Kodiak Teen Court program in 1995 if it weren't for the HUGE HELP from Sharon, and I suspect the same holds true for the other youth court programs that started soon thereafter. (Put another way, she was the Godmother of the statewide Alaska Youth Court programs.) Sharon was a tireless advocate for Alaska's youth and she will be sorely missed.

My earliest memories are of summer at the beach fishing site with my family, Aunt Dorth, Uncle Les and big cousin Sharon. Another is at their place in Spenard with a full house of Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Sharon was the oldest and coolest person ever. Always in charge and leading our choir, complete with pots, pans and spoons in Unc's camper. What a racket!! Our cousin was always so much fun. Always smiling, singing, and scheming our next adventure. I will always love her spirit and those beautiful bright smiling eyes.

I had the privilege of being AYC president while Sharon was the executive director, and she was among the most supportive adults in my life at the time. Her life and work leaves a vibrant legacy in Alaska and beyond. My thoughts are with her family.

I was saddened to hear Sharon had passed, as she was such a special person, and she did so much good for others, especially those less fortunate than most, and those who needed a break in life -- especially through her 25 years at the Anchorage Youth Court in Alaska, USA. I am glad Sharon had some years of retirement, but she deserved so many more years with her family and friends. Thank You for helping me for so many years Sharon. Thank you for being encouraging and pragmatic, real and loving and a bring light in this world.

We will always miss you. We know you were blessed with a loving family, and I can not thank them enough for sharing you with so many of us, for so many years.

WE LOVE YOU SHARON AND WE MISS YOU.

P.S. Attached is a photo you sent me recently, of us in San Diego, CA with Olympic Gold Medalist Kari Strug.
