We were very saddened to hear of Adriel's passing. Our heartfelt condolences to the entire Johnson Family (in particular, Jacqueline and kids), and the UAH Family as well. Rest assured this is shared all the way from Central Pennsylvania with a heavy heart.

Adriel and I were at NC State University together, in the same PhD program under the mentorship of Dr. W. Jim Croom, Jr. We collaborated and helped one another on research studies, and co-authored a couple of papers. But more importantly, Adriel was a genuine friend of mine and of our family's. My wife Sheila and my oldest daughter Julia knew Adriel, because he took the time to get to know them. Adriel helped our young growing family in numerous ways, many beyond the normal call of what is generally reserved for friendship, including trying to teach me to drive stick-shift (in his car!) helping us drive and move to Oklahoma from NC State! He was that kind of giving individual, even back then.

IOn closing, to borrow something Jim Croom recently shared during a related TV interview, "The world would not have many of the problems and injustices it has if it was composed of Adriel Johnsons." I could not agree more, nor state it any better, so I close with that...
