Dear Lorie,
Gordon was always refreshing and fun. I missed him when you all devided to move back to CA but I celebrated with you both for your time together and without jobs.
I always think of Gordon's and your kind hospitality when I first moved here with my family. Often, I drive by your old street here in UA and wondered about how things have gone.
I am sure this time is so very difficult and I pray for you that wonderful memories of Gordon remind you of his living among us with all who he touched with his smile, laugh and scholarship.
My best to you and your children,
Martha Belury

I wrote a section of one of Gordon's books, reviewed others, and worked with him at OSU. I am very sorry to hear of his passing. I considered him not just a colleague, but a friend.

It was my pleasure to work with Gordon at McGraw Hill Publishers. His textbooks have improved the lives of countless students studying Nutrition. He was an excellent author to work with and his passion for the field of Nutrition was very evident in all aspects of his authorship. He will be sadly missed and the field of Nutrition has lost a good friend!

I have fond memories of Gordon and I am deeply saddened to hear about his passing. I met Gordon when I went to college at UCSB with his sister Blair.
He was a genuine good person and made the world a better place. I am proud to be able to say that I knew him. My condolences to his wife, children, family and friends. R.I.P. Gordon

Lorie, William and Elizabeth;

I knew Gordon as a colleague at Ohio State. In fact I have met all of you previously while you lived in Columbus. I am very saddened by your loss. Gordon had such an outgoing personality and always engaged others. He retired early and he once told me that he did so because he wanted to be able to live before he departed this world. He was able to do that when others would not have had the courage to do so. It was the right decision for him and all of you. I will remember him always and will keep you in my thoughts during this difficult time.
