John Joseph Ewing
AIKEN, SC - Mr. John Joseph Ewing, 78, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2015.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the Old St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Park Ave., with the Reverend Father Arturo Dalupang officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11 at the church.
Pallbearers will be B.J. Conner, Ryan Ewing, Adam Ewing, Randy Kirkland,
Andrew Coursey, Brandon McVey.
Mr. Ewing was born in Brooklyn, NY, a son of the late John and Frances Voigt Ewing. He served in the US Air Force, and worked as a Pipe Fitter for Austin International. He had been a resident of Aiken since 1969, and was a member of St. Marys. John was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his daughters, Jane Marie (Leonard) Drummond, Aiken, Frances Margaret Coleman, Warrenville; sons, John Joseph (Patti) Ewing, Anderson, SC, Christopher Alan (Lisa) Ewing, Warrenville, Stephen Paul Ewing, Aiken; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Anne Marie Lewandowski, Aiken; brothers, William (Jean) Ewing, Fort Mill, SC, Thomas (Marie) Ewing, Bradenton, FL; beloved Robert (Betty) Voigt; daughter in law, Sue Ewing, Aiken.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Louise Bingham Ewing, a daughter, Deborah Ann Kirkland, a son, Mark Stephen Ewing.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Vincent dePaul, P.O. Box 438, Aiken, SC 29802.
