Lonnie K. Young, Jr.
SALLEY, SC - Mr. Lonnie Kenneth Young, Jr., 61, entered into rest, Friday, May 8, 2015.
Born on October 4, 1953 in Salley, SC at the home of his parents, the late Lonnie Kenneth Young, Sr. and Daisy Yon Young.
He was the younger brother of Danny Young (Barbara) and Janice Young Etheridge (Bob). His was a loving husband, father and son.
He graduated from Pelion High School where he played basketball and baseball. While still a young man, he met his wife, Glenda. They recently celebrated 41 years of marriage. They have two children David (Holli) and Justin, and two grandchildren Daisy & Drew.
Throughout his life he had many interests including, fishing, hunting, water sports, snow skiing, playing ball, and shooting pool. He also never missed an opportunity to help out his mother and father around the house or on the farm.
He was a retired electrician from Savannah River Site where he served for 25 years.
Visitation will be Monday, May 11 from 6- 8 pm at Blizzard Funeral Home Chapel in Wagener, SC.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 12 at 2pm at Clinton United Methodist Church (333 Hollow Creek Rd) with the Rev. Grayson Blackwell officiating. Burial will be in nearby Poole Cemetery immediately following the service.
Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Clinton UMC athletic complex at 333 Hollow Creek Rd., Salley, SC 29137.
