NEWARK, NJ - On Feb. 12, 2015, Willie Mae Oakman -Bryant made her transition.
Born in Aiken, S.C, a resident of Newark for 65 years, 30 year employee for the Newark Board of Education, loyal member of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church. Beloved wife of the late Marion Bryant, devoted mother of LaSondra Bryant-Williams, Darryl Bryant, Dwayne Bryant, Eric Bryant and Yolanda Bryant; loving daughter of the late Coleman Oakman and Rosa Jane Oakman; dear sister of James Oakman, Elizabeth Barton, Geneva Torian, Margaret Scott, Minnie Jones, Samella Beckles, Alecia Gleen and Birdell Chavious; adored grandmother of 16; also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held 11:30 AM, Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Zion Fair Missionary Baptist Church, (Viewing 10:30-11:30AM) 97 Dry Branch Road, Aiken, S.C. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
