My deepest sympathy for the loss of John. May the God of all comfort be with you during this difficult time and may you find comfort in relying on God and family for support.
John, my brother, rest in peace. You have earned it.
The Tuskegee Airmen were a special group of people. How do you deal with race issues and still try and protect your life. They all did just that successful. May the family find the comfort and support they need from our Heavenly Father. Mr. Allen sleep in peace until as Jesus said "All in the memorial tomb will come out.
With deepest sympathy to the Allen family during your time of grief...God is for you a "refuge and strength," A help that is there to be found during difficult times...May God provide you with "peace and comfort" to endure the days ahead...(Psalm 62:8).
To the Family of Mr. John Edward Allen: The members of Olivet Free Will Baptist Church and I would like to extend belated condolences to you for your loss. We are thankful for the courageous service rendered to this country by this brave Tuskegee Airman. May Mr. Allen rest in peace; and may the strength, comfort and sweet peace of God be with you always.
Bishop Albert Ingram, Jr., Pastor
Olivet Free Will Baptist Church
Our condolences to the family. Bro Allen was our neighbor for five years on Guam from 1972 – 1976 and a part of our lives every since. We will miss his annual Christmas missal and sage advice but know that he has run his journey, paved many paths for others to follow and left this world a better place. His legacy of service to God and Country as a man, a mason and a Tuskegee Airmen will continue to inspire others to exceed against, seemly insurmountable odds, well into the future. We will forever cherish the fun memories of Brother Allen, his children and family. Thank you Willie for making John's last year's so wonderful. May God bless and keep you as we remember the contributions of this great American.
On our journey through life we run into unique individuals with an enchanting ability to bring calm in the midst of storm. John Allen was one of these individuals. He was eternally optimist and a rock of strength that we could all lean upon. John, we love you and will miss you as you journey into the unchartered realm from whence borne no man returns. May God continue to bless the family and friends with warm memories of your presence for 84 years.
Joseph, Shirley and the Hardy family, CMSgt USAF (Ret.).
May God bless you and your family.
Thank you for your service.
I did not know Mr Allen, but my grandfather was also an airmen in WWII. He was not a member of the Tuskegee Airmen but he also did not speak of his time or experiences as a P-38 fighter pilot in the War in Europe. They were a special group of people and deserved their privacy for the atrocities they endured; although those of us who loved them wished we could understand and be a support to them. I lost my grandfather several years back, but think of him daily. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
We so enjoyed knowing and working with John, our deepest condolences to his family. He is a treasure that we shall all miss very much Bill and Joan Oliver
I stand with others who have paid tribute to such a wonderful human being and patriot. I had the pleasure of meeting and being in the company of Mr. Allen many times while stationed at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, and being member of the Gen. Lloyd "Fig" Newton Chapter of TAI. May the blessings of God be with you, Ms. Willie, during this difficult time.
I am so blessed and honored to have had the chance to not only know John, but I was able to actually work beside him for a few short months at Napa. He was always such a patient, cheerful and kind person! I don't think I ever saw him in a bad mood. I loved hearing his stories and words of wisdom! Thank you John for being such an inspiration to us all and for touching the lives of so many!
Mr. Allen, thank you for your service to our country. I appreciated the time you took to share some of your experiences with me. You had an amazing life and are a national treasure. To the Allen family, thank you for sharing John with us. God bless you and comfort you.

Thank You isn't enough, for the Freedom that you fought for and your unconditional Love for all of us. May You sit next to your brother's and sisters as a Angel Soldier in the sky. May God bless your family,as he holds them in his loving arms.
A proud patriot with integrity and great humility, John Allen definitely left footprints in the sand. I am honored to have worked along side you and as I watch the reflection of the setting sun across the Sandia's I will picture you....flying high with your fellow red tails.
Rest in sweet peace. Thank you for all you did to keep America the great country that it is. God Bless You!

The raising, the"ultimate" reward. For God has elevated a “great asset” to mankind. Thank you Mr. Allen, for you have been a “mentor, father, brother, and leader” to us for a many years during your travels on this earth. We will surely miss you, and hopefully meet and greet you on the other side of the river. God is good all the time, and may he bless your family in his loving arms. God has another angel, you are in Heaven with my grandparent. Thank you for your service.
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Because of men like Mr. Allen,
the road was paved for my father to serve in the USAF. Thank you for your courage, sacrifice, and service for this country. I learned what "above board" meant when my father told me about the Tuskegee Airmen.
Thank you Mr Allen, and servicemen everywhere for the courage and sacfifice it takes to serve our country in that way.
Honor to you for the influence you and the other Tuskegee Airman have had in my life. I was approached by a man who was saved by the Tuskegee Airmen when I was in a mall in Sioux City, SD. His story was so amazing I went home and did some research. We didn't learn about this in school which I thought was a gross negligence. I am humbled and grateful.
God Bless your family in this difficult time.

I was so sorry to hear of Mr. Allen's death. I especially admired him and his fellow airmen for their act of forbearance. It is not always easy to show love and respect for persons who are persecuting you and for a country that is behaving so unjustly. Jesus must have had these men in mind when he spoke the words at Luke 23:43: "Truly I tell you today, You will be with me in Paradise."
Thank you for your service to this country. I have family members who made it back home thanks to the heroic actions of you and your fellow pilots. God Bless and Godspeed.

A Tribute to a Hero, Higher Fligt...
Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth, and danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings.
Sunwards I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds – and done a thousand things you have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air, up, up the long delirious burning blue.
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace where never lark, or even eagle flew.
And while with silent, lifting mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand, and touched the face of God.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your sevice to this country anD to all people.
REST IN PEACE AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!!

As an Army Veteran I solute you. You are truly a hero. Thank you for your service.
As a young black man in Alabama, I learned of the Tuskegee Airmen. As an adult I met several people from a Flying Fortress crew who proclaimed, "Those colored flyers were the best pilots in the world." They were the only reason they had returned home from the War. They also said they left all of their prejudices in the skies over Germany. "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." Psalm 30:5b. REST IN PEACE.
