Leo Stacey Obituary

Alex Stacey a.k.a "The Bug Man", 74 of Akron, Colorado, passed away
Monday May 11, 2015 at Yuma Hospital.
Alex was born February 7, 1941, in Battlecreek, Michigan, the son of
Leo Vernon and Hannah Stacey. He attended Cherry Creek Elementary
School and Cherry Creek Middle school. He graduated from Cherry Creek
High school in 1959. Then he attended Colorado State University.
On July 14, 1990, he married Debra Lightle. He was a member of the
Little Britches Rodeo, which was similar to the 4-H pro. He was an
avid hunter and loved fishing and camping. He loved his dogs with a
passion and he loved training them to hunt. He was a beloved fan of
the Colorado Rockies. He loved spending time with his children,
grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Alex was preceded in death by his parents, Leo Vernon and Hannah
Stacey; his brothers, Elven and James Kellogg; and sister, Mary Reid.
Survivors include wife Debra Stacey of Akron; and four daughters,
Shannon Brandon and husband Richard Brandon of Otis, daughter Kathy
Finley and husband Richard Finley of Texas, daughter Barbara and
husband Don Corbett of Englewood, and daughter Gretta Davis and
husband Jimmy Davis of Akron. Grandchildren include Hannah Mann of
Kirk and Drake Brandon of Otis, Candice Pearcey of Aurora, Ashley
Brandon of Las Animas, Andrea Brandon of Morrill, Nebraska. Samuel and
Leo of Texas, Christina Chumley, Jennifer Chumley, Cassandra Chavez,
Stephanie Corbett, and Zander Corbett of Englewood, Parker and Paxton
Davis of Akron. Great grandchildren include Martial Hodges, Makayla
Floyd, Lennix Chavez, Lettie Chavez and Ryker Gall.
A funeral service was held Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at
Bowin Funeral Home of Akron.
Interment followed at the Akron Cemetery. Reception after service was
at the Y-W Electric. The family asks that all monetary donations be
sent to the Alzheimer's Association.
