RIP Walt. I loved that man. He was so good to me and Zack. Walt never missed Zack's football home games when we lived in So Lake Tahoe. He loved my homemade tamales. We were blessed to have known him and Nanci. Another loss of a great man.

When I was 16 years old, I helped coach a Little League team that Rick was playing on. Naturally I was a little starstruck by Walt's presence but he was such a genuinely nice guy and treated me very well. I'll never forget when he and a couple of his buddies treated me and the other coaches to an evening at a Padre game to say "thanks" for coaching Rick.
