Thomas VanArnam died on Oct. 30, 2013. Born March 30, 1921, in Piscataway Township, N.J.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothea, and son Tommy.
He was a graduate of Dunellen High School in Dunellen, N.J. Starting with his enlistment in the Army Air Corp, his distinguished military career spanned three decades and three wars. During that time, Tom earned the Distinguish Flying Cross in addition to other medals.
Throughout his life Tom was an avid golfer, most recently medaling in the Senior Olympics. In addition Tom served his community through local service clubs.
He is survived by four children Karen Bacheller, of Atlanta, Ga., Barbara VanArnam, of Prather, Calif., Dorothea VanArnam, of Winlock, Wash., and Raymond VanArnam, of Alamogordo; eight grandchildren, nine great-grand children and one great-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Tom's memory to Alamo Senior Center or Trinity Lutheran Church.
Final arrangements are pending.
The VanArnum family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.

Will miss seeing Tom at the Senior Center, he always had a smile for me and wished me a good day.
