Alan, you'll be truly truly missed. I can't tell how much i love the devo-songs, especially those that have been held together by your unique style. not unlike what paul thompson did for roxy music, it's the ying to the yang, the earthy foundation to the flamboyancy and hysteria that makes this unique combo of rock and avantgarde. while the geeks run wild, they need to have a solid beat - it couldnt have been done better than the way you did it. my alltime-fave..."gut feeling" ... as if kraftwerk did their take on "house of the rising sun", i have listened to the song a million times and its basis is the steady groove, from the relaxed kickin'-in over snare and toms to the classy git-solo into the galopping punk extravaganza of "slap your mammy". i'm going to listen to it right now, and i'm thinking of you and, of course, your family. r.i.p. - keep drummin!

DEVO made punk fun and exciting. You made DEVO amazing! As a drummer myself I can not under estimate the influence you had on me.

you are not men you are DEVO. and now ? We miss you on earth. You and your DEVO´s changed the world of music in revolution sound. Saw you life 1st time in the early 80´s in Munich and it was the greatest show ever. And when the cocert was end, all people went out in silence, ´cause all get satified perfectly. No need to give any encore. That is part of your music and now part of your live, in respect with tears.
