I have been a fan of Anita O'Day since I first heard her on the radio singing Let Me Off Uptown in the 1940s. I am greatly saddened by her death. The world has lost a musical phenomenon.

Anita O'Day went straight to my heart from the very first time I heard her fabulous voice in the 1980's. I've been addicted to her and to jazz ever since. I simply love her style and her feeling!

I'm a broadcast pioneer in Indiana and archive everything I can. I just burned a CD of her great interview with Skitch Henderson on his show The Music Makers in l982. WOW! To hear her own voice tell the stories of her career (and the way she told them!) was truly exciting to hear..plus the l0 great songs that were included. She's now tops in my archive material.

I have loved her singing and technique since I bought my first Anita O'Day album (An Evening with Anita O"Day)back in the early sixties. She is and will always be the greatest.
