Ann Lydecker not only was unique in the fact she was the first female Chancellor at UW-River Falls. But also in the way she shaped and molded the university into what it is today. We both began our journey at UW-RF together in August 2000 and it is unfortunate the time I have known her has suddenly run short. I will never forget having a conversation with her at a University of Wisconsin System meeting in Madison. It was my freshman year and I was a member of the Jazz Ensemble, which was there to represent UW-RF among the other UW schools. She sat with me at the piano and talked about what musical instruments she played and how much she was looking forward to hearing our performance. As many people already know, Ann truly was a personable and approachable human being. She will never be forgotten and her legacy will live on at UW-RF and in all the people she has inspired.

Ann had an amazing blend of talents, but her smile and her wonderful warm generous spirit are what many of us will always treasure. My sympathy to Bill, Rich and the rest of the family at this time.Peace My Friend Ann

I had the pleasure of meeting Ann Lydecker at a conference a few years ago. The compassion she had for UWRF and western Wisconsin was truly inspirational. My thoughts and prayers are with all who knew her.

I had only met Ann several weeks back at a UW System Dinner, but she has left me with an everlasting impression of accomplishment and energetic enthusiasm. On behalf of the students of University of Wisconsin- Superior our heart felt sympathies go out to the Lydecker family and to the UW- River Falls Community.
