Ann had a true gift for inspiring those around her. I was one of the many she unselfishly mentored through the years, and I am so grateful for her life and memory.

My condolences.

My condolences go out to Chancellor Ann Lydecker’s family during this very difficult time. Ann was such a great person, leader, mentor and a friend. She was a true inspiration to everyone that she worked with and had a chance to meet. She had great visions and dreams for this university and I have strong feelings that they will be carried on. Dr. Lydecker knew the things that were truly important in life- faith, her family, education, love, hope, joy, laughter, hugs, and optimism. These are all precious gifts that she shared with us and they will always be ours as long as we continue to hold her dreams for us in our hearts.. I had the opportunity to work with Ann through Student Senate and other numerous organizations. Whether it was off campus functions, meetings, banquets or being at her house with fellow Senators, she was always fun and was delightful to be around and I will never forget the good times that we had. She always had the time to talk to me if I needed to talk. She was always full of enthusiasm and always had a smile on her face, which made her such a great person to be around. Even through she was only here at UW-RF for a short time, it is absolutely amazing to see how many lives that she touched and how many people she inspired. No matter what she was doing she always had time for students and others if they had concerns and needed to talk. She was the most genuine person that I have known. Ann, you have touched my life and many others in ways that you will never know. Even though she was the Chancellor, her responsibilities never outweighed her values and she was our friend Thank you for always believing in me and knowing that I could do my best. You will never know how much that meant to me. You will be greatly missed and may God bless you for all that you did.-
