I had the privilege of meeting Gov. Richards at an annual local event in East Texas -- on one of my birthdays. She began singing "Happy Birthday" to me, grinned that mischievous grin, shook my hand and wished me well. The next year, she came back to our area, saw me in the crowd, smiled and said, "There's that Birthday Girl! and today's your birthday, isn't it?" What a memory! You will be missed, Governor, for there's not many people that have your charm, wit, politcal savvy and genuine feeling for the people you served. God bless your family as they mourn your passing, and may God give you a crown with many jewels.
