I can't express my grief at David's passing, sweetest person in the world, a one in a million, loved his friendship, got me through many rough times, still cannot believe he's gone. Judy Cohen

From Lynne, Jack, and Ruth Henkel:

Dear Family and Friends,

It has taken us a long time, nearly five years to come to a place where we can speak freely about the loss of our beloved brother David. He brought so much joy into our lives. His kindness, loyalty, and humor were constants we had grown to depend on all our lives. He was truly the sweetest spot in our family. We loved him like crazy, and living without his smile and hugs has been a challenge.
Recently, we remaining siblings gathered at his favorite spot on the Huron River to spread his ashes. We pledged our eternal love and expressed our gratitude to him for sharing his life with us.
We dedicated a paving stone bearing his name. It is placed at the entrance way to the Humane Society of Huron Valley. All three of his beloved dogs were rescued from this shelter. David loved his dogs.
We would like to thank you, our family and friends for the compassion, understanding, kind words and support you have shown us in our time of bewildering grief.
Everyone who knew David was touched by his buoyant generosity of spirit. He was and is truly loved.

Thank you with all our love,

Ruthanne
