I just learned of Eileen's death. I am a colleague from Wayne State in another college. I am so sad. I enjoyed all the time I worked with Eileen. I miss her greatly.

Messages from students of SW386 at Enstiti Travay Sosyal ak Syans Sosyal (ETS):

-(Translated) Please convey my greetings to the family and to the husband of Dr. Eileen. I learned many many things from her and I am so very sad to hear that she is gone.

- I send courage to the family. I wish them strength. Teacher Eileen Trzcinski was giving us good lectures and was a friend to go hiking. She loved dance very much like a young woman. She was happy for all the times when we went for hikes and to experience the culture and the people of Haiti.

- (Translated) I say "keep strong" because the spirits are with you. A loss of a close friend or family member, this is always difficult but we can treasure our memories of Dr. Trzcinski. We can hold them close to us to remember her smile, her enthusiasm about statistics, her dancing. Truly, I have never had a teacher before who stopped the lecture to demonstrate the tango! She was full of life like a person half her age so I was surprised to learn she was so experienced as a full professor. Really it was amazing to see a professor who loves learning and loves her students and who wants to spend time with them to eat together, to do research together and to go on a little day-long vacation together. Like everyone else I wish to celebrate her life.

- The students of social work and the people of Haiti we have lost a good and great friend so we are terribly sad. We send condolences to the partner of Teacher Eileen.

- (Translated) The memory that gives me comfort is the time when we traveled to the market with Professor Eileen and Professor Charity. The foreigners were bargaining something fierce! The market women wanted to know, "hey blan, how did you learn to bargain like that?" They were surprised to see a foreign woman haggling like a real Haitian. But Professor Eileen responded by explaining to the market women the economics of their industry! She was funny! She gave them words to know why they choose behavior, like lowering prices and having a "bottom line". She was a fierce woman with much knowledge!

Translation: I send my deepest feelings for sharing with you the great experience of our excellent teacher and friend: Dr Eileen Trzcinski.

I know, it is not easy when a person loses one of their friends, families, colleagues or nearest neighbors. It was a very unfortunate situation which we all feel very bad. But life continues and each of her families as well as us, the ETS students, had the joy of sharing with her nice moments and interesting academic courses with an extraordinary level. So, I personally wish good courage and strength to the families and colleagues of Eileen Trzcinski to continue with Dr. Trzcinski's ideas and principles. Here at ETS we will never forget all we learned as she continues to be with us.
