Thanks to all who have shared their memories of our dear parents. We miss them every day. If you would like Deb or myself to contact you, please leave a way to do so. Thank you

Dear Debbie and Robert, I was one of your neighbors when you lived in the U of M family housing units on Stone Drive in Ann Arbor. Also, I was your sitter when you mom went back to school part-time. Today I found this obituary while trying to hopefully contact her and wanted to extend my sympathy to you - losing our parents is so difficult, leaving us feel like orphans. She was such a warm, caring person and always sympathetic to those around her. I remember she brought back from a trip over here to Europe a box of chocolat - it was my first real "taste" of a continent that I thought I would not ever visit. I will never forget her kindness. Karen Lehmeier (formerly Clegg) and son, Ryan Clegg.

Dear Children of Gene and Charlene,

I send condolences to you for your loss of two great parents. Although I never met Gene, I was a college friend and sorority sister of Charlene and we kept in touch through Christmas cards and emails until 2016. All of us who knew her were grief stricken when we read the obituary notice in the recent Hope News. Because we had no particular way to contact you individually, I am writing this notice in hopes that we may reconnect at some time in the future. She was one of our dearest friends and someone we loved deeply. She brought so many wonderful experiences to our college days and inspired us with so many stories of her life as a wife and mother. She attended our 45th reunion in 2011 and we last communicated in the days leading up to our 50th college reunion in May, 2016. Know that there are many of us who will reach out to you and share our memories of your mom. They are priceless to us! Our heartfelt sympathies to you and to your children.
