Sorry that we missed Gene's passing, but most of our family lives away from Ypsi. We had many great memories and vacations growing up with the O'Leary family. Condolences from the Allward family (Dennis, Gary, Lance and Kirk).

I am sorry for your loss. May prayer comfort you.

My condolences to the O'Leary family on the loss of your father, grandfather, and friend to many including myself. I met Gene in the spring of 1996 in the Ypsilanti Fire Department at the conclusion of 100 years of service. Gene's grandfather served in the department until an injury on duty forced William O'Leary to go home and eventually losing his life from that injury. Gene identified a number of firemen featured in photos to include great uncle Fred Babcock, William, and a dog named Tonker. I enjoyed talking with Gene then and at several gatherings until 2007. Eugene O'Leary was part of our fire service family for sure.
