Dear Millie and Family,

I am so saddened to learn today, March 29, 2018, of George's death. He and I traveled together several times in Alaska and the Chukota Peninsula of N.E. Russia.

Just today I was setting aside color slides of him to send. He had a great sense of humor and would occasionally call me from his office mimicking the Yupik language. Many of the photos I have captured him engaged in playful behavior. I laughed numerous times today while selecting the images.

I'd be happy to send these photos to you. My email address is: [email protected]

Kindly,

Pat O'Hara

Dear Millie,

I am so sorry to learn of George's passing. He was always so kind to me, both as one of his residents and even more so as a friend to a young trouble maker. The world needs more kind souls like George.

Many years have passed since George, Millie, and I were last together. But my fondness for both of them and respect for George as a surgeon and humanitarian have never waned. May he rest in peace. And special blessings are offered to Millie and the Schaub family. Nicholas J. Feduska, M.D. -- East Renton Highlands, Washington

Dear Millie, I was sorry to hear of George's death. I know that he had been infirmed, but the finality is difficult to accept. George was a fine man, a good physician with a very caring heart. He implanted my mother-in-law's chemo port several years ago and was so very kind to her. I've been out of town and was unable to attend the funeral. Fondly, Diane Nielsen
