John Hathaway introduced me to Barney in 1968 at the Pretzel Bell where we often had lunch. He was one of the finest men I've ever known. Always friendly, entertaining and with interesting stories to tell-- he was a wonderful courtroom lawyer and knew when to use humor and when to be firm.

We were neighbors of Barney and Nan on Wilder Place over 50 years ago, and they were both very honest, kind, loving people. Our kds went to Bach School together. I am sending my condolenses to Mary and the "kids" as I know it will be a big loss to all of you. Pat Hentz

I moved to Ann Arbor in 1968 to work for Bill Delhey in the Prosecuting Attorney's office. The first private attorney I met was Barney. I was proud and honored to call him a friend from that day onward. A great attorney; an even better person.
