Dear Grace, David, Emily, Hugo, Olympia ~ its been a year without Laurence by your side but you will have him forever in your hearts because death can never separate those bound together by the ties of pure love (Isaiah 41:10) ~ Linda, Queens, NY

To the Boxer Family: My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.

Here we are, a year later, and I still think of my good friend Larry Boxer regularly. He was so "alive," always with a quick wit & smile. Kind, gentle, generous & brilliant. What a combination! A gift from God to all of us. I will always miss him. I hope Grace & the family are well.

Larry was one of my favorite classmates at East High School--warm, friendly to everyone, and unbelievably talented and modest. He helped me with freshman chemistry (qualitative analysis) at the University of Colorado (I thought the course was boring. He reveled in it.) And he took me out to dinner in San Francisco four years later when I came west for a fellowship interview. Like all of his classmates, I am very proud to have known him, and I grieve for his loss. What a wonderful man and what a wonderful doctor, as all those notes from his patients testify.
