Dear Dr Winfield, my deepest sympathy and condolences for your painful loss. I am so sorry I only heard today when I phoned your office, may God give you peace and comfort. She is in a much better place and she left you with two wonderful children and a trove of fond memories. May God bless you, take care of yourself.

Although we didn't cross paths directly, Lynn was part of a large group of psychologists who went through the Ed. Psych program here. We were all only one degree of Kevin Bacon from each other. In all these years I never heard a bad word about her. She was respected and admired. She surely will be missed.

Lynn Chandler was my therapist while I needed one. After that we became close friends. In both roles, I found her to be a wonderfully deep person with a good sense of humor and balance. Over the years, I kept track of her children and her husband, Bob Winfield, through her. I have seen Bob a few times as a medical doctor at University Health Services but I don't know if you, Bob, knew I was close with Lynn. I remember when you were in the hospital with pneumonia and my husband was there for cancer treatments and hospitalization. Once we were "on the same floor" and Lynn and I commiserated together. She and I also shared experiences and ideas about improving education for children in Ann Arbor public and private schools. I cannot put into words how much Lynn meant to me so I will mention some small details. 3 different offices. Her house on Delphi above the river. Her dogs. Her chair arrangements in the alternative medicine space. Her smile. Her BALANCE--her emotional health. Her support of me in most stressful times. Lynn, you were a treasure. Bob, love to you. Sorrow.
