Mike was my officemate at Illinois when he was a graduate student under George Batzli. He later transferred to Entomology. I just found out about his passing. I really enjoyed knowing Mike. He was so funny and dedicated to his work, Many nights we broke into Monty Python skits as we grow weary from our studies. I am truly sorry to hear of his untimely passing.

I met Mike when we were 17. We were preparing for a summer in Europe. He was so silly, bright and full of energy. I often think of him and didn't know much of his life past our first few years in college! I was crazy about him and am sad that his life ended at such a young time in his life. My life is better knowing him and I'm sorry that he's gone.

My condolences to Mike's family. I remember him from Corning and he was always very helpful and had a big smile. I'm sad that I didn't get to know him better. He was an amazing man. RIP Mike.

I had the pleasure of working with Michael when he started his volunteerism with Growing Hope. Michael was a kind, smart, joyful guy who always had a gleam in his eye and a proverbial spring in his step. He was very helpful to us, and dedicated to his volunteer position. He was always ready to help, and I am very thankful and lucky to have known Michael. Growing Hope was lucky to have had him as a key member of the volunteer team

We shared a deep love of the blues. Mike and I spent hours and hours listening to the old standards, our blues harps at the ready, unforgettable duets and laughing all the way down to the Blind Pig. We'll never forget the smiles you put on our faces. I can only hope that you are now jamming with Mose Allison and all the other great musicians that inspired our generation.

Dear Ellen and Mrs.Foster, It has been many uears since our paths crossed, either in High School or at Kroger's where I worked. I remember your brother although I did not know him. It sounds like he really had the life. I am so sorry for your loss. I remember you so well Ellen. I remember you signing my graduation cap the night we graduated from High School. Didn't have the Omega! I wish you and your family well during this difficult time. Reley on all those great memories and your Faith. I wish I could have gone to the service but could not make it. Take care of yourself.Denny.

I have had the honor of being a close friend to Mike since we first met in junior high school in Ann Arbor. All who knew him are blessed and have had a better life because of Mike's presence. He was an inspiration to all and is missed deeply.

His laugh and the smiles he brought to others will happily be remembered.
