To Judy and the entire Papo family. I only now discovered the news of Dr.Papo's passing, one which I have no doubt has touched so many, as he touched so many, many lives. I send my deepest belated condolences to you all and rejoice in the fond memories you have of such a special man, husband, father, friend, tutor and visionary. I was a crew member aboard Celestial in 1989. Meeting Dr.Papo and having had this opportunity to be a part of his sailing passion, to this day and always will be an amazing and pivotal memory in my life. I loved his tangible love for life and his family. His heart flowed when sharing his stories of you all. He to me was a happy, kind, generous, insightful teacher of life and I shall always keep a very special place in my heart for him. Sail on...sail on... with my love and deepest regards, Peg Pinkman

Receive my deepest sympathy for your loss.
I am sure any person who met Michael agrees that he was a noteworthing man.He was so genuine, generous, humanitarian, very simple and a happy intelligent man who lived for celebrating life, love and people.I feel very proud of having the opportunity to meet him because he was and will always be a model to follow as my second father. What a wonderful man Mike was. I first met him when I was a medical student so very long ago. He was a visionary doctor. My husband and I became friends with him. He was a wonderful friend, full of warmth, charm, energy, joie de vivre, wide-ranging interests. We lost track of him through the years. When we read of his death, it brought back very pleasurable and vivid memories of him. When the acute sadness passes, may your memories of Mike give you much pleasure and inspiration.

I remember Dr. Papo from a very long time ago. I recall, as a 16 year old going to the Chelsea Clinic (as it was called back in the 70's) for an office visit and diagnosis. I don't know what it was about him, but I have never forgotten him. I think it was his concern and respect he had for me, a young lady, who was very nervous at seeing a "new" doctor. I have never forgotten him. I send my deepest sympathy to his family.

Dear Rene Dear Michelle

We well remeber the sailing trips with the Papos in the late seventies, and our formidible adventful visit to Egypt.

Michael was a good doctor and a compassionate person. We however knew him as a polymat, interested and competent in anything that he undertook. A complex and fascinating man whose love of life was infectious. May his memory be a blessing to you and to the entire Papo clan.
