Tandy, Nancy Lucille Gregory, Michigan Nancy, age 87, died unexpectedly on Saturday September 16, 2017 at her home with her husband at her side. She was born March 30, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of John George and Mary (Cheney) Haas. On December 27, 1947 she married John M. Tandy. While John was in the United States Army, they spent twenty years living and traveling throughout the U. S. and Europe with their family. Upon their return from Frankfurt, Germany they inherited the Glenn Centennial farm on Hankerd Rd.. Gregory, Michigan. Here she began her love of gardening which she enjoyed her entire life. She retired from the Xerox Corporation in 1992. She was an active member of the North Lake United Methodist Church, where she served on many committees. She was a vital part of the church and its charitable programs. She also did mission work in Costa Rico. She was a member of the Dexter Historical Society, the Chelsea Women's Club, and a volunteer at Faith in Action. While in Tucson, Arizona where they spent their winters, Nancy collected toys and clothing for a Mexican orphanage for many years. She was an accomplished seamstress and needle pointer. She enjoyed genealogy and spent many hours researching her family history. She is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years John M. Tandy. She was a loving mother to her son John M. (Diane) Tandy II, of North Lake, and her four daughters, Karin (Tom) Hall of Bethlehem, Pa., Nannette Tandy of North Lake, Mary (Jeff) Bust of Chicago, Il., and Jennifer (Jim) Szamecki of Clearwater, Fl., and adoring grandmother to nine grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday September 30, 11 am at North Lake United Methodist Church, 14111 North Territorial Rd., Chelsea, Michigan with Reverend Todd Jones officiating. Private burial will be at North Lake Cemetery. The family will receive friends 10 am to 11 am. Memorial contributions may be made to North Lake United Methodist Church.

So very sorry to hear that Nancy has passed away. She was a big hearted lady. I've always appreciate her friendship with my folks, especially when they were far away in Tucson. You are all in my thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time.

Many Thoughts and Prayers for the entire Tandy Family!!! I will always remember going trick-or-treating at the Tandy's and getting a big giant Hershey's Choc.bar..the best stop on the block!!! As well as sitting in on visits between Mrs.Tandy and my Grandma on the Jedele farm and hearing all sorts of gossip and neat stories!! She will be greatly missed!! {Hugs} to you all!!!

John & Family, I'm so sorry to hear of Nancy's passing. I enjoyed working with her for many years at UMI. We called her our "Social Director" for the Production area. What a joy! My deepest sympathies to you & your family.

I was truly blessed to know Nancy at North Lake UMC. She was always so sweet and kind,always had a smile on her face,and loved helping others. She will truly be missed by all of us. My sincerest sympathies on your families loss of this wonderful woman.

John and family, we were shocked to hear of Nancy's passing. Our deepest sympathies to each of you. We always commented to each other as to when you would leave for Arizona and when you would be back. We will miss Nancy.
