George Bernard Shaw wrote a wonderful comment about life (below), but he never met Nils Rosaen.

Life is no brief candle to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got a hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations.

George Bernard Shaw

Nils was the "splendid torch" Shaw was writing about. Nils blazed brilliantly in every encounter and every situation. His obituary portrays his essence very well.

Although Shaw didn't know Nils, he was describing him in this excerpt. Shaw would have loved Nils -- just as each of us do.

Nils was invested with more life than other people! His life was characterized by fierce-loyalty and passionate-friendship.

Who he was is vastly more important than what he accomplished (as significant as that may be). Only a painter like Vincent Van Gogh could have captured the inner fire of his personality!

I was his Pal, I understood him, and I loved him!

Ephesians 3:20.
