I'd like to thank Phil for creating Sweepster. It was a true blessing for me and my family for 32 years. May he Rest In Peace. My prayers go out to his family.

What a perfect description of Phil! He was one of a kind! He and my late father, Rod Grambeau, Sr. were part of a great group who met at Weber's on Saturday mornings for years, for verbal sparring and breakfast. I recall him commenting to me (a social worker) that social workers are "bleeding hearts" - I asked him what he thought HE was!
He touched so many lives with his generosity, and will be missed by many. His legacy will live on and he will not be forgotten!

I met with Phil on several occasions and saw him often at non-profit events in town. The obituary described him perfectly -- generous to the community with occasionally salty language, devoted to family, and with a great sense of humor.
Phil had a zest for life that few others have. He was a very interesting man and will be greatly missed by everyone.

Phil was such a huge inspiration to me. I was amazed at his ability not only to love and care, but to believe in the potential promise of a young non-profit. I suspect there are many others who could say the same thing. I knew Phil because of his incredible philanthropy to Neutral Zone. When it was just mostly an idea and a hope, Phil grasped the purpose and the deep desire to make a place for teens. When I think of all the teens that benefited just from Neutral Zone, I have to think that Phil takes a trail of fairy dust with him. All the lives he touched, all the lives he improved, and all of the beautiful young leaders that he enabled to find their own power, would be just in itself a tremendous legacy. If Phil could be a star in our sky, he would be a big, big bright one. He could not be anything less. Phil enabled me to think beyond what "was", and to look forward and think "what might be". What a great guy he was!! Swanna Saltiel
