Uncle Bob was one of the kindest, gentlest people I ever knew. my heart goes out to Joanne and Katie, and all of Bob's friends. Peace.

I was so sorry to hear of Bob's death. I served with him on Friends Center/Quaker House Committee for a number of years and found him dedicated, thoughtful and caring. Also enjoyed sharing committee potlucks with the family. My deepest sympathy, Joanne and Katie.

Bob and I roomed together for a year at Oberlin College and for the summer of '53 in Cambridge MA. What a thoughtful, learned, compassionate and utterly decent human being he was and still is for those of us who knew him. He helped me through a tough summer without ever realizing it. Thank you, Bob, for being part of my life.

Myself and two friends lived in Bob's house in the middle of 1980s. He and Joan are the most wonderful persons I have ever met here in this country. He always spoke to us slowly and kindly as he thought we might not understand English well. He tried to help us as much as possible whenever he could. We will surely miss him forever.
