I was so sadden by the news of George's passing. I had just purchased tickets to see him in August. I grew up on George , my Dad was from that generation and I can still remember listening to him on 8-track !!! I had planned on taking my Dad to the concert , as a thank you for bringing country music into my life! I think despite all the sadness we can all agree this man was special , and had an amazing life!!!! We were blessed to of had him in this world for 81 years !!!! Maybe my Mom will get to see him up there And he can sing her a little song ! God bless the family !!

Thank you Nancy and family for sharing George with the world, his songs were always interesting and good and they were him - real. I love the way his voice sounded, his range and the ability to exactly match the mood of whatever he was singing. I will miss him but the amount of music he recorded over the years will keep him in peoples memories and hearts. The song "Whos gonna fill their shoes exactly describes George. You know this old world is full of singers
But just a few are chosen
To tear your heart out when they sing.
My condolences to Nancy, Gorgette, and family.
