Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.
July 17, 2013
He was a Great Officer and Leader who lived the Army Values to the fullest, which made me admire and respect him, valuing him as a very close friend and leader. I worked with him at Fort Eustis, VA, and looked forward to pairing up with him in California. I was hoping to meet with him this summer, but now I'll have to wait a little while longer. He'll be at the top of my Prayer List from this day forth.

He made the world a better place for so many! - here in our Country and wherever he served and led. He shared many words of wisdom/passion and his deep and sincere love of the Lord, his family, and our country with me. A few months ago he shared a song sung by Kevin Costner "The Angels Came Down." Jeff's the hero that will forever be in our hearts and dearly missed...another song he shared with me..."Angel Flight" artist Radney Foster comforts me during this sad time of grieving. Jeff's home now and he's resting in peace. May God bless his family as they deal with the loss of this dearly loved and good-hearted man.

Rhonda & Ramona, I am so sorry for your loss of your brother Jeffrey. I had only meet your brother one time at a party on Encinal road, when Ramona brought him to our table. We lived neighbors of your Mom & Dad before the 1955 flood. There was only Grandma Francis Wilson's Nursing home between us, Barbara and Sonny on the left side, the Carr family on the right. I remember Rhoda riding on her Mother's hip, with blonde curly hair flying all over.I remember Ramona having lunch with Barbara's Mother in a resturant on Bridge Street, next to Feather River State bank. My thoughts are with you girls and I so sorry for your loss.I love you both. Donal R. Carr

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to MAJ Jeffrey Scott Harnish our “Brother-in-Arms”. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Jeff. And to Jeff it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during Operation Iraqi Freedom while serving in the U.S. Army. Jeff, no greater patriotism is shown than a soldier lay down his life in service to his country. We bid you a sad farewell. While you will be dearly missed from among our ranks, you will always be remembered for your dedicated and loyal service to our great nation. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of the 1,307 members of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Jeff's family and loved ones.

Stephen J. Lavery, Commander, American Legion Post 14
