We knew Gus for twenty-plus years. We played golf together on a weekly basis. there was a real sadness when he gave up the game and sold his cart. That cart is still known as "Gus's cart".
Our best description of Gus was that he was "sweet". We miss him greatly, as do you.

Gus was a great friend and companion on and off the golf course! It was very difficult to do him a favor—attempts were always rewarded by a visit from he and Shirley, usually to deliver a couple of steaks just to make sure they weren't getting behind.
As he often remarked when one of our golf group managed to make a green in regulation—"It looks like a birdie, for sure".
