Jan was one of the first people we met when we moved to California in 1991. Appropriately it was at an art event: Warren Robbins, a founder of the National Museum of African Art, was giving a presentation. My husband, Wosene Kosrof, is an artist from Ethiopia, so we were very interested in the event. Not only did we have a long year friendship that grew out of our shared love of art, but also Jan and her husband had spent time in Africa - and we shared that love as well. Over the past 25 years, Jan came to many of Wosene's shows, came to our house, or we met for lovely lunches or dinners. Jan was one of the kindest and most fun loving people I have ever known. She had a great wit, a keen observation, and was always ready for a good laugh. We miss her and will always keep her wonderful presence in our hearts, minds, and spirits. Pat DiRubbo and Wosene Kosrof.

Jan-e-poo! It will not be the same without you. Thanks for leading the way and giving us such a great group of people to now be associated with. Love you, Steve Cocconi
