I thought of Jeff today - I remember talking with him on the phone for several hours one night before he passed. Looking back now I guess I was one of the lucky ones that got to hear him laugh, and depart great stories one last time. Jeff discussed the military, his love for his children, and how much he loved his wife. Jeff shared how proud he was of his kids and how his wife meant everything to him. Jeff shared his struggles with me, and his hopes for his future and the future of his family. We talked about our youth and how we tormented one another..and we laughed at how silly we were. I felt instantly warmed by his laughter and thankful for the chance to connect with him and become friends as adults. I am sorry for his passing, in a selfish way as I would have enjoyed having more memories with Jeff. I believe we all have gifts we bring to this earth and Jeff had the gift of making others feel good. I miss you Jeff. Paula

Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.

He was a Great Officer and Leader who lived the Army Values to the fullest, which made me admire and respect him, valuing him as a very close friend and leader. I worked with him at Fort Eustis, VA, and looked forward to pairing up with him in California. I was hoping to meet with him this summer, but now I'll have to wait a little while longer. He'll be at the top of my Prayer List from this day forth.
