October 6, 2012
I was a police officer in Marysville for 25 years (1968-1992) and met Marion through my job when he was a local businessman.
Then about 5 years ago when he was 94, he was in my Traffic Violator School class (to clear a citation). He had gotten a citation that was not really his fault. He had set his cruise control for 60 miles per hour, but a mechanic at the dealership had adjusted something and apparently bumped his setting from miles per hour to 60 kilometers per hour (around 40 mph) and he was cited for "impeding the flow of traffic" (going too slow and holding up traffic). He thought he was going 60 mph. He told me after class that he was actually glad he got the citation, becasue he had learned so much good safety information and was going to go home and share his new knowledge with his wife, so they could both be better drivers. Marion was a great gentleman and a joy to have in my class after all those years. I was very sad to hear of his passing.

We were sorry to hear of Marion's passing. He was a special man who meant a lot to my family. Keeping the extended family in our thoughts and prayers.
Much love,
Tina Singer
