Crites, Glenda S. 77 Sept. 07, 1935 April 13, 2013 Glenda Crites, 77, a resident of the North Plains community, died Saturday evening, April 13, 2013, at her home. She was born on September 7, 1935 in Paragould, Ark., the daughter of the late George Avon and Myrle Anita (Brown) Smith. She was raised and received her education in the Paragould community having attended Paragould High School. She was united in marriage to Joe Clifford Crites on February 26, 1952 in Stanfield, Ariz. Following their marriage they resided in Colorado Springs, Colo. until 1954 when they moved to the North Plains community and has resided there since. Glenda was preceded in death by her husband, Joe on June 27, 2005 after celebrating over fifty-three years of marriage together. She was a member of Bible Believer's Baptist Church in Hillsboro. Glenda was a homemaker. Among her special interests, she enjoyed gardening, flowers, playing Bingo, fishing, camping and overseeing (with her son), the tending to their salt water fish tank, most importantly, spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Myrle Smith; her husband, Joe Crites; her son, Joey Crites; and her brother, Charles Smith. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Marilyn and Lonny Roberts of North Plains, Gail and Gary Brennan of Vernonia, Luann and Mark Riddell of North Plains, Cheryl Crites and Cary Straub, also of North Plains, Lisa Morrison of Banks, Tracy Crites of North Plains and Jolene and Dan Vice of Hillsboro; her brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Barbara Smith of Calif.; and her two sisters, Leona Crites of Huntington and Shirley Smith of Hot Springs, Ark. Also surviving are her 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Remembrances may be contributions to the Bible Believer's Baptist Church, 1055 NE 25th Avenue, Hillsboro, Oregon 97124. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Fuiten, Rose & Hoyt Funeral Home, 2308 Pacific Avenue, Forest Grove with Pastor John Robinson, officiating. A burial rites and interment will follow at the Tualatin Hills Presbyterian Church (Old Scotch Church) Cemetery, 30685 Scotch Church Road in Hillsboro.
