Larry was a year ahead of me and also from South Dakota. I knew I was headed for West Point and followed Larry's stellar track career in South Dakota, at West Point, and in the US Army. He was as good as there had ever been in track at that time in South Dakota. I was not in his class as a runner, but was proud to be on the freshman track team when he was a sophomore on the varsity. He always went out of his way to be friendly to me. His dad was South Dakota National Guard Adjutant and Larry often was able to get the governor's plane to take the academy cadets home to South Dakota for Christmas leave. I last saw Larry in Korea where he related to me his success on the United States Army track team where he had posted some incredible times in the 880 yard (800 meter) run. He was very popular at West Point and I believe he was captain on the track team as a senior.

Larry spent a lot of time at our house when I was growing up. I always looked up to him. He was a fine man. My sincere condolences to his family.

Kimberly,
It has been many years since I have spoken with Larry. He and I played football together at West Point and was the basis for the respect that I had for him. Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. His passing will reduce the number of "good guys" in this world.

The entire Sprint (former 150s) Football family sends condolences to the Lemaster family. I was fortunate enough to meet Larry at our annual 150s football reunion at West Point in August 2015. He was such a great guy and I sensed that all of his teammates who joined him that weekend had so much admiration for him. He certainly made me all the more proud to be the head coach of a program that has alumni like Larry. Be thou at peace.
