To the Gilliam family you have our deepest sympathy. I lived next door to you with my brother David and Gram Richardson on Cherry Street in Bethel. I pray God grant you favor and give you a peace that will pass all understanding at this time. The Bible says to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

To the Gilliam Family: My heart is so broken to hear of the loss of Armon. He and I began school together in kindergarten and he was such an incredible friend over all these years. I lived in Dallas, TX for a short time and went to a basketball game one night and was sitting behind his team. He turned around and exclaimed my name and was so excited to see someone from home as was I. His smile was infectious and he provided me with years of memories of our childhood. He was such a special person and I hope all of you will carry that with you in these trying days to come. I will carry him in my heart and prayers all my life. God bless his children - please know that your Daddy made a difference in this world. My prayers are with all his family and friends. His laughter will ring in my ears forever.

Alma and family .... Haven't seen you in a long time, but would never forget you, and" our man... Armon," we would always call to him, when he passed on the street as a teenager and young man. I am so sad to hear this news, but I am sure God has an important job for him in Heaven. Hope he is talking to my Little Bernie. I love you .... Bettie Cinello

I've known Armon for many many years. Although I lived in California we remained friends. He inspired me during my trials and I will always cherish our phone calls discussing the Word of God. There was never a time that we missed praying after our phone calls. He truly will be missed as a friend and my spiritual brother in Christ.

My Heartfelt Sympathy to All of Armen's Family & Friends. I was fortunate to get to know Armen back in the early 80's at 5-Star Basketball Camp in The Poconos & we met again for a few mins. in the late 80's at The Omni in Atlanta before a Hawks/Suns game. He was a Great Player & a Greater Person. I followed his career super closely & loved his style of play. I was so saddened to read of his passing last week, he will be in my prayers/thoughts forever. - David Greene (Palm Desert, CA)

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I had the pleasure of knowing Armen (Armon) when he played with the Charlotte Hornets. I was fortunate to have known him and he had such a beautiful spirit. I pray for his family that God gives them peace during this difficult time. Much love to you Armon!! ~Leslie M. Jones
