Family-Placed Death Notice
BROOKS, Al Al Brooks, age 63, of Monticello, died on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 in Conyers. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 12, 2011, at Horis A. Ward's Rockdale Chapel, with Mitchell Shiver officiating. A resident of Monticello, Al was an avid fisherman, a friend to many and he adored his family. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church. He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon R. Brooks of Monticello; son, Blaine Brooks of TX; daughter, Kristy Diaz of NC; grandchildren, Brianna and Sammy Brooks of TX, William Diaz of NC; mother, Marguerete Mitchell Brooks of Tucker; sister and brother-in-law, Patti (Brooks) and Milton Shiver; niece, Margaret Shiver; nephew, Mitchell Allen Shiver all of Lawrenceville. He was preceded in death by his father William "Bill" Brooks. The family will receive friends on Friday, from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to: The Autism Society at Autism-Society.org. Horis A. Ward's Rockdale Chapel, (770) 918-8851 is serving the family.

We are sad, but have fond memories of Al's youngest years while living next to his grandparents, our Uncle Wesley & Aunt Cora. Al's Mom is a special cousin, as well as his Uncle Billy. We share in your loss.
